Hello! We are Dan and Sarah Haines. We live and serve at a year-around Christian camp in Fairview, MI called Camp Barakel and have since September, 2010. Previous to that, we lived in Rochester, MI, where Dan remodeled homes for about six years. Our home church is Five Points Community Church in Auburn Hills. Dan is originally from Pontiac and Sarah grew up in Clark Lake, near Jackson, MI.
We serve as Resident Missionary Staff, which means that we aren’t paid by Barakel. We needed to raise support from local churches and individuals just like any overseas missionary. We are thankful to God for continuing to provide for our needs.
Dan works in the Maintenance Department at Barakel which includes fixing, cleaning, and maintaining the 60+ buildings in Camp along with other staff. Sarah helps out with baking, food prep and some child care, which always includes keeping track of our 2 young sons, Asher and Isaac.
We’ve seen God change many lives through Camp Barakel, including our own, and we are excited to be a part of the ministry here.
